Suzuki violin lessons use the method named after Dr Suzuki who made it famous in the 20th Century. Suzuki violin method does not teach note reading. Rather, Suzuki Violin method uses a play by rote or (by ear only). Many teachers use the technique of teaching by rote for children at 3, 4, and 5 but not all necessarily continue that that technique after 5 years of age. Regardless of what they choose, the classical technique lays the foundation, which is the underpinning of all good playing styles. Once children approach or enter adolescence, the interest in guitar increases because their taste in music develops through the influence of pop culture and peer influence. Many children donÕt begin the guitar until this age, which give guitarists the reputation of the Ôlate bloomersÕ. The age-old debate is whether to start on electric guitar, the classical guitar, or the acoustic guitar. Once children are old enough (and tall enough) they can begin learning on any of these but they will benefit greater technically and musically for the sake of longevity beginning other an acoustic guitar initially.

Fife/FluteFife lessons are an excellent introduction to the flute for younger children ages sixThrough eight years. Young fife students will learn the embouchure used for the flute aswell as learning basic note reading and rhythm. Correct breathing and posture will also be covered when studying the fife.Flute Lessons can be started at age eight. Private flute lessons will cover proper breathing; correct hand and body position, embouchure, as well as reading music and rhythm. Any level of playing is acceptable from beginners to advanced players. Students will learn to produce a strong tone and will learn a solid technique through scales and various studies. A wide range of solo repertoire will also be emphasized. There is also the possibility to perform in recitals and play in ensembles with other flute students.
Once you have decided which instrument you would like to begin your private music lessons, you can call the school to setup a private music lesson time. Private lessons are once a week for 1/2 hr, 3/4 hr or 1 hour duration. For most beginning children, 1/2 hr lessons is an adequate length of time. Adults should more likely consider 3/4 hr lesson.
As a student or parent of a student, you should anticipate practicing daily. Since learning a musical instrument involves mainly motor and memory skills, your progress will solely be dependent on the commitment of time you spend practicing. Realistically, you should practice at least 15 minutes a days to get any noticeable results.
